**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **COMPANY:** Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. **LOCATION:** 168 Third Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 (can work remotely) **TITLE:** Engineer II, Software **HOURS:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm **DUTIES:** Work with product development team of scientists and engineers to collect requirements and craft interactive scientific software solutions. Develop full stack web applications using the latest browser, server side, and database technologies. Maintain, support, update, and enhance software applications. Build, maintain, and implement automated test frameworks and tools using standard methodologies. Build and run continuous deployment technologies to enable efficient implementation of developed and improved software. Build and implement code documentation to support design, development, and maintenance. Design, develop, test, debug, and troubleshoot software with Java and front end technologies. Build and deploy web applications for both on-prem and AWS Cloud. Attend all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-up, PI Planning, Sprint planning, Grooming, and Retrospectives. Attend all production release activities, including release planning, regression, testing, release night calls, production smoke testing, and aftercare. Create code documentation. **TRAVEL:** Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. **Telecommuting Employee:** Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute. **REQUIREMENTS:** Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation as an equivalent alternative.
