American Express is entering into a technology transformation phase driven by opportunities to modernize legacy platforms and explore modern software to be on the leading edge of payment card industry. This individual will architect cutting-edge strategies for the payment process using latest computing techniques driving proof of concepts with strong hands-on experience. We expect the individual to be innovative and energetic with strong communications skills to adopt the concepts into production.
About Enterprise Architecture:
Enterprise Architecture is an organization within the Chief Technology Office at American Express and it is a key enabler of the company’s technology strategy. The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:
1. Architecture as Code: this pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise.
2. Architecture as Design: this pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support.
3. Governance: this pillar is responsible for defining technical standards, and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance.
4. Colleague Enablement: this pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach.
Responsibilities:
o Design, build and manage enterprise platform and frameworks for Process Management, Case Management, Work Management
o Designing, developing, and supporting shared technology services leveraged across enterprise
o Taking your place as a core member of an agile team driving the latest development practices
o Writing code and unit tests, working with API specs and automation
o Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related experience required; advanced degree preferred Up to 6 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as: Strong knowledge and hands on development with primary skills as: React.js/angular & Java script Spring Boot/ MVC API Management Experience with micro services architectures and service mesh technologies if possible Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases Strong exposure in object-oriented design and codingo Knowledge of Open API standards is a plus
