Overview:
This role supports the design, coordination, and delivery of land development projects for commercial, residential, and site infrastructure under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer (P.E.). Responsibilities include producing technical deliverables, developing design solutions, and contributing to collaborative project execution.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design and preparation of plans for site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control.
• Develop and evaluate design alternatives based on site constraints, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation using tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and MS Office Suite.
• Analyze horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, and right-of-way requirements to ensure project feasibility and efficiency.
• Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company formats.
• Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to support permitting and compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• 2+ years of experience in civil site, commercial, residential design, or public works
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with land development processes and engineering standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Reliability and dependability
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with overtime as needed
