Engineer II - Customer Network
**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **Engineer II - Customer Networks** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division. This position will be located at our office in **Germantown, MD.** ​ **Responsibilities:** ​ + Design, implement, troubleshoot, and manage routing and switching of Enterprise Customers’ terrestrial networks.​ + Ensure the secure transmission of network traffic through network nodes.​ + Work on different vendor like Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Velocloud, Cradlepoint products to build and manage Customer networks. ​ + Enable new features in networking devices and implement network systems improvements to enhance network performance and reliability. ​ + Configure and support Enterprise Customers' routers and switches with networking protocols to ensure seamless communication among network devices. ​ + Work on Windows and Linux servers to troubleshoot network issues and to analyze network performance.​ + Perform firmware upgrades on networking devices for bug fixes and enhancements. ​ + Use Python Programming Language for config management in airflow orchestration system and also use Python to automate processes.​ + Support our customer off hours when ON CALL **Basic Requirements:** ​ + Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field ​ + 3+ years' experience in Customer Network Engineering. ​​ **Preferred Qualifications:** ​​ + Deep understanding of network infrastructure, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, ARP, VLAN), and services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, VPNs, SD-WAN). + Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of Python programming for network automation + Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex network and software issues. + CCNA and CCNP certification​ + Any Fortinet (NSE) certification + Python Programming Language​ + Excellent communication skills​ + Experience working on data networking protocols and telecommunications​ + Ability to learn and adapt to new products and technologies quickly​ + Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills​ ​ Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.​ \#LI-AM1 We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, genetic information, protected veteran status, disability, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal law.
