Microchip's Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and R.F./microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG encompasses two business units, the Power Discrete & Modules B.U. and the R.F./Microwave Discretes BU. Markets the PDM & RF/MW Discretes BU's address include alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors, and security.
We are looking for a proactive, eager, and assertive Engineer II – Manufacturing who enjoys working within a team environment. In this role, you will actively contribute to the engineering efforts required for the manufacturing of High-Reliability products and related process and product developments. The position is mechanically, manufacturing and industrially oriented and will operate among a variety of engineering disciplines.
This is an experience-rich opportunity for an Engineer II - Manufacturing with a B.S. Degree Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and at least 2-4 years of experience to work alongside a team of experienced manufacturing engineers. In this fast-paced environment, the selected candidate will quickly develop within a role characterized as having high levels of autonomy immersed within the full support of a mentoring group of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
Actively own engineering responsibilities for assigned processes.Ensure World-Class Manufacturing concepts are vigorously pursued; implement and/or support continuous improvement programs.Perform in-depth studies where opportunities exist for improvement to allocated processes and products.Support product engineering for all production products. Interfaces with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems.Design, run, and document results of experiments under the direction of senior engineers. This includes developing and modifying test programs, analyzing and organizing test data, keeping accurate records of all activities related to experiments.Create and maintain test specification/ manufacturing documentation.Understand MIL-PRF-19500 & MIL-STD-750 specifications as they apply to assigned products and processes.Understand and implement Microchip Lawrence's Quality Manual and related in-house procedures as they apply to assigned processes and new products.Adhere to Health & Safety standards and policies.Take on other related engineering duties as required and assigned.Microchip targets candidates who value teamwork, have effective interpersonal skills, and respect technical leadership and structured processes to build world-class products.Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's in mechanical/manufacturing engineering discipline.Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience.Ability to think holistically and creatively to introduce unique solutions to problems.Ability to manage multiple projects.Familiarity with statistical methods such as: SPC, Gage R&R, DOE, 5 Why's, 6 Sigma, etc.Strong Microsoft Office skills with a high proficiency in Excel.Must be well organized with an ability to multitask and work on a diverse set of problems while simultaneously being on a steep learning curve.Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present and discuss manufacturing information to technical and non-technical team members.U.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States.
