**COMPENSATION INFORMATION**
The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.
Engineer II Pay Range: $88,000 - $98,000
Engineer I Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000
**Join our team as an Engineer in Market Forensics!**
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Market Forensics team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of market concepts, analyzing market data, and performing market clearing engine sensitivities. As part of the Market Operations team, you will contribute to daily market reviews, repricing, monthly model upload validations, market study issue resolution, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. You will also support the development, testing, and implementation of market software changes and address customer inquiries related to the SPP electricity markets.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Develop Market Expertise:** Review market protocols and research specific areas related to work assignments to develop a detailed understanding of market concepts.
+ **Market Data Analysis:** Create database queries to retrieve and analyze market data and draw insights to inform decision-making.
+ **Market Clearing Engine Sensitivities:** Develop proficiency in market clearing engine software and perform engine sensitivities to support market analysis requests.
+ **Market Operations Support:** Assist with daily market reviews, repricing, monthly model upload validations, and resolution of market study issues. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure market operations run smoothly.
+ **Software Development Support:** Contribute to the development, testing, and implementation of market software changes.
+ **Customer Support:** Respond to customer inquiries, analyze issues, provide responses, and coordinate internal discussions when necessary.
+ **Market Reporting:** Develop and maintain daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual market reports to meet established deadlines.
+ **Working Group Support:** Assist in supporting SPP working groups, committees, and task forces with market analysis and presentations.
+ **Commercial Modeling:** Perform commercial modeling with high data integrity and support the development and implementation of commercial model software changes.
+ **Forecasting Tools Monitoring:** Monitor and maintain the accuracy of wind/solar forecasting tools.
+ **Post Operations Processing System (POPS) Support:** Review and provide analysis of POPS results, ensuring SOC1 financial control compliance with Settlements.
+ **Public Data Posting:** Support changes to public data postings by creating, updating, and reviewing database queries as necessary.
**To be successful as the Engineer in Market Forensics, we're looking for:**
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering, this degree should:
+ Be from a university that meets the requirements to sit for the Professional Engineering exam (in Arkansas, that is most typically a degree from an ABET accredited university or a graduate degree from a college that has an ABET accreditation),
+ Degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field and preferred degree programs are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
+ Engineer II - Two (2) years of job-related work experience
+ Engineer I - No experience required
+ Strong inter-personal and teamwork skills
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
**Preferred:**
+ Advanced degree in related field
+ Electricity industry experience
+ Experience with software programming languages
+ Professional Engineer Certification
**Work Environment:**
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:**
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
**Travel Requirement:**
This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-10%).
