Engineer III
**Description** Salary Range: $108,035/year - $122,859/year Ampirical Services, Inc. is an electrical transmission and distribution engineering company that provides comprehensive customer support, from project conception to design engineering, project management, and construction. Engineer III will serve as a member of the San Diego, CA Transmission group, responsible for the engineering, design, development, implementation, and analysis of power systems and may include distribution, substation, relay protection, civil/structural and transmission design. Using client standards, the Engineer III prepares construction work packages for implementation of recommended remediation measures, including preparation of drawings, and creating material lists. This Engineer III will have the following duties: + Provide mentoring of designers and engineers. + Under supervision of a licensed civil engineer, contribute to the engineering, design, development, implementation, analysis, development and reporting of conceptual routes, terrain models, structure loading calculations, layouts, preliminary and for construction detailed engineering and design and specifications for high voltage transmission and/or distribution lines. + Under supervision of a licensed civil engineer, develop project engineering, design and construction deliverables including plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials, stringing charts, pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and other construction drawings. + Consults with supervisor(s) regarding model accuracy, infrastructure design, and engineering standards. + Create engineering and design project guidelines and criteria. + Analyze construction as-built revisions. + Provide quality assurance and quality checks for project engineering deliverables developed internally or by third parties. + Provide construction support including responding to project RFI's throughout the project life cycle. + Support client's project engineers including interfacing with the client or in the field attending project job walks. Perform any other duty or task as assigned by the Manager or Director of Transmission and Distribution. Eligible to telecommute 3 days a week from a home office within reasonable commuting distance from main office and work on site at office in San Diego, CA 2 days a week. **Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related engineering field. + 4 years of civil engineering experience involving the planning and design of transmission and/or distribution line infrastructure. + The stated experience must include: + Using design and analysis software and tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD, and MFAD/FAD + Coordinating and working on tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints; Employer Contact: Julie Walker Human Resources Manager 1654 Ochsner Boulevard Covington, LA 70433 jwalker@ampirical.com
