Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance & Engineering, the EIT, Mechanical is a critical role in improving the reliability, availability and maintainability of plant equipment and works closely with the maintenance and operations personnel at the Joffre Nitrogen Operations. The successful candidate for this role will possess a high level of problem-solving and comprehension skills. They should be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
What you will do:
Develop mechanical design proposals through the MOC process Analyze maintenance history and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunities Progress the site’s Maintenance & Reliability Continuous Improvement Plan e.g., Asset Care Program implementation Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations Specify pressure equipment repairs Develop equipment specifications and review equipment purchases and installations to ensure that equipment is built to recognized practice Work with Site Trades Groups, Planners, Engineers, Inspectors, and Projects Groups
What you will bring:
Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Eligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer In Training New Grad with engineering work experience in a plant environment Exposure to pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2), and NDT inspection techniques Exposure to API 579, API 571, API 510, API 570, and API 650 Exposure to Alberta regulatory requirements for pressure equipment Advanced experience working with Excel and an understanding of VBA programing language Experience using PV Elite, CodeCalc, and CAESAR is considered an asset
