We are hiring an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) position working out of Phoenix, AZ.

 

The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will perform basic water and wastewater engineering work under the direction of a project engineer or engineering manager. This position involves reviewing and approving engineering documents, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, technical design reports, master plans, and other engineering documents related to water/wastewater projects. The EIT will ensure compliance with company standards, state regulations, and industry best practices.

 

What you’d be responsible for:

 

Review and approve engineering documents such as plans, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, technical reports, and master plans.Ensure compliance of documents with company standards and regulatory guidelines.Interpret, create, and administer legal agreements, engineering standards, and technical details.Complete and execute Main Extension Agreements with developers.Prepare bid documents for the design and/or construction of water/wastewater projects.Review and analyze bids; draft bid analysis reports with recommendations.Execute and administer engineering design contracts and construction agreements.Track and monitor budgets for water and wastewater projects.Provide support to the engineering team and ensure alignment with company goals.Assist in the completion of permit applications and the administration of permits for water and wastewater projects.Assist with various tasks related to the construction, design, and operation of water and wastewater systems.

 

What’s required to be successful:

 

4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with an emphasis in water and/or wastewater treatment and hydraulics preferred.EIT certification preferred.Basic understanding of fundamental engineering principles and proficiency in mathematics.Previous experience in water/wastewater engineering or construction is preferred.Experience reading, interpreting or reviewing civil construction plans.Experience with GIS software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products are a plus.Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
