Engineer In Training - EIT
**Position** : Engineer In Training - EIT **Location** : Houston, TX Midtown Engineers is a leading infrastructure, transportation, and civil engineering firm based in Houston, Texas. We value our people and believe that their skills and knowledge are crucial to our achievements. This is a full-time role for a Graduate Engineer or Project Engineer at Midtown Engineers. As a Project Engineer, you will be engineering, designing and delivering infrastructure projects for clients such as HCED, HCFCD, HCTRA, METRO, City of Houston, TxDOT and various others. Your day-to-day tasks will include development and delivery of Plans, Specifications & Estimate (PS&E) packages, engineering design, CAD design, quantity take-offs, QA/QC, permitting and construction phase services. This is a hybrid role, which means you will be based in Houston, TX, but will have the flexibility to work remotely at times. **Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Conduct business in a professional, honest, and ethical fashion at all times + Plans, Specifications & Estimate (PS&E) – performs engineering design and analysis in support of PS&E packages for various clients including Harris County Engineering Department, Harris County Flood Control District, HCTRA, City of Houston, METRO, TxDOT and various others + Quantity Take Offs – provide quantities and cost estimates as needed for project delivery + Permitting – assists project team with all aspects of permitting for various public agencies + Project Site Visits – accompanies the project team and project manager + Project Schedule – creates and updates Project Schedule in Microsoft Project format + Bid Phase and Construction Phase – assists project team during the Bid Phase and Construction Phase of the project including RFI’s, Product Reviews, Monthly Progress Meetings, Site Visits and As-Builts + Record Drawings – completes record drawing research for utilities including AT&T, CenterPoint, City of Houston, MUD’s and various other + Uses automated programs and computer-assisted design/engineering systems **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors + Ability to obtain PE License within 4 years + Engineer-In-Training certification in the State of Texas + Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License + 0-2 years of experience with transportation engineering, construction, material testing and/or project management + New graduates encouraged to apply **Technical Requirements:** + Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk/Civil 3D + Well versed in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook + Technical report writing + Knowledge of State and local government standards and specifications **Other Miscellaneous Qualities:** + Hybrid Work Schedule + Based in Greater Houston Area with ability to visit project sites and job sites + Ability to travel, 20% of the time + Communicate effectively + Maintain effective working relationships with others + Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports **Midtown Engineers EEOC Statement** Midtown is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
