We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Supervisor in the Mechanical Systems Integration group. Under general directions with limited review, this position is responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolving unusual or complex engineering problems. With the support of a small engineering team, this position is responsible for providing technical design solutions for a range of design problems from obsolescence and manufacturing production support to aircraft avionics integration layouts and cross functional engineering coordination and component assembly using CAD (Computer-aided design) engineering software. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. May coordinate segments of a specific project and may have frequent inter-organization and customer contact on difficult technical issues. Provides direction to design or technical staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and lead a team of designers and engineers with a focus toward requirements definition and deliverables.Applies technical knowledge to design, analyze, investigate, and resolve assigned engineering problems utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.Obtains and analyzes test data to validate the engineering design intent.Plan and schedule work assignments for the team, reporting status on regular intervals commensurate with program cadence and needsMonitor project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools and report status to internal managementAssure that internal and external customer needs are identified and addressedProvide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, serve as a resource to share specialized knowledge with the team. Participate in and lead design reviews with internal teams, management, and external customers.Generate and present analytical data for integrating new and existing technologies and capabilities into GA-ASI developed aircraft, both internally and externally installed.Plan and conduct structural, mechanical, and system tests supporting those decisionsMay generate requirements and recommendations on the acquisition and use of equipment, systems, or other capital expendituresApprove all designs, detail drawings and parts lists supporting integration and flight testing of aircraft components.Assist in and verify aircraft integration, validation of hardware and systems prior to aircraft integration.Support the development and approval of AFA’s, AWI’s, test procedures and associated reports.Generate and document critical systems integration requirements for dissemination to other functional engineering groups through the use of engineering memos, ICDs, DDS, etc.Research, design, develop and create detail drawings and parts lists for mechanical products and systems such as LRU mounting structures, aerodynamic fairings, antenna mounts and secondary structure.Provides program development support in addition to production and manufacturing support, on-site as well as at flight operations facilities.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Other duties as requiredWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
