Management and staff in Kofax’s Localization Engineering job family help the company to assure that its products and technology solutions are globally applicable, relevant and use-able among the company’s diverse set of global customers. The position of Engineer is a core, entry-level departmental role and appointees are expected to perform whole core departmental tasks; albeit more basic tasks by comparison to Senior Engineers/Specialists and above.
Engineers will perform some of the following work and be involved in other aspects, as assigned:
Developing localization/internationalization standards, requirements and processes for all Kofax products and their applications, as well as customer-specific technology solutions Developing software and other tools and scripts to automate and facilitate the localization process. Includes, where appropriate and applicable, identifying, acquiring and using industry best-practice equipment, systems and programs Working with cross-functional partners, such as Core Engineering and Product Management, to proactively evaluate product roadmaps and other innovations; contributing a specialist localization/internationalization perspective and providing such input and feedback into the development process Playing a specialist role in advising Core Engineering, Manufacturing and other Kofax groups and partners on localization requirements during design and development phases; leading to a more cost-effective and time-efficient overall localization process Developing and executing against localization requirements and international product/solutions’ deployment: Leads production projects such as translation of technical content, software coding and/or hardware design into foreign language and foreign country requirements Building and de-bugging localized versions of Kofax products and solutions; coordinating with Quality Assurance and others during release phases Preparing localization plans and localization kits Working with partners such as Technical Communications on all localization requirements as these impact technical content writing and publication Educating and supporting any localization vendors, local Kofax Engineering resources, and local customers Supporting other internal and external partners/stakeholders/customers, as and when appropriate, in responding to localization inquiries and/or other ad hoc needs Staying abreast of industry and field developments; remaining current in the latest quality assurance testing and localization technologies and functionalities, as well as ever-evolving needs of customers and their customers
