Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the full scale of projects from planning to execute our pre-existing and new production lines. You will investigate and monitor equipment, analyze and recommend the most efficient combinations.
Key Accountabilities
Planning and executing of projects related to new and pre-existing production lines, improvements, upgrades and new equipment. Investigate and monitor new machinery and equipment in order to recommend or select efficient combinations. Conduct time studies to optimize cycle counts of existing process. Recognize and resolve tooling related difficulties with existing and new projects. Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities production and administrative systems. Develop and review all processes and operator instructions to ensure accuracy and conformance to actual procedures. Lead development of process flows, process sheets, FMEA’s and control plans. Prepare quotes and attend Customer Focus Meetings. Work with production planning to set shop priorities and ensure all required equipment and documentation is available to run jobs. Interface with suppliers of raw material and tools to establish engineering requirements for the start of production. Assist in training shop floor personnel in machine set-up, equipment operation and best practice.Minimum Requirements
A University degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent. 5 -7 Years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment. Ability to review scale drawings to meet customer requirements and comply with manufacturing capabilities. Experience using specialized equipment and techniques to take precise measurements. Ability to determine materials and equipment to use for projects and decide the appropriate codes and standards. Experience in contacting suppliers to verify product availability, specification and negotiate timely deliveries.Desired Characteristics
Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of Professional Engineers Organizational skills to coordinate integrate work teams involving other engineers, technicians and suppliers Experience in risk analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
