Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 制造工程师
In this position, the individual would be responsible for recommending improvements in manufacturing methods in order to reduce errors and increase efficiencies to meet quality and cost objectives. Also need to assist Project Engineers with prototype and sample submissions and participate in continuous improvement meetings with a focus on process, cycle time and tooling improvements. Under general supervision, plan for equipment layouts in plant office, and production facilities and establish standards to improve industrial engineering techniques.

Performance Expectations
Analyze existing industrial engineering techniques and develop recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimize costs, and time taken; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products. Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Imply independent judgment and acquired experience, for execute moderately complex and non-routine assignments. Prepare reports regarding reviews of production methods, equipment layout and equipment and material utilization. Understand specific client needs or technical specifications, parts drawings, and other engineering data to develop new techniques and estimate time requirements for each step and total cost of the project.
Specify new tools and fixtures where required
Recognize and resolve process related difficulties with future projects while working with Program Manager and Project Engineers
Recognize and resolve tooling related difficulties with existing and new projects while working with the manufacturing support staff
Assist in developing processes for jobs at quotation and start of APQP process
Investigate new manufacturing and tooling methods
Help in defining plant layout and ergonomic requirements
Support the Linamar Production System 9LPS lean initiative
Participate in Advance Quality Planning
Determine optimum tooling sequence and write programs for CNC machines
Optimize CNC programs and maintain program files
Assist in training shop floor personnel in machine set-up
Assist in resolution of process scrap
Assist in the reduction of rejected in-process inspections and first-off
Maintain tool lists, set-up instructions, CNC programs for all assigned jobs and issue ECN’s when changed
Assist in ensuring the process is capable through capability studies
Log all customer owned fixturing and update all relevant documentation when required
Monitor and collect information from cutting tool tests, and recommend changes due to quality and cost improvements
Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality and delivery
Participate in FMEA development and improvements
Participate in CAT activities
Work rotating shift per need

Credentials
College education in engineering or equivalent required
In-depth knowledge of tooling, machining processes and set-up of CNC equipment
大专以上工程或相关专业

Desired Characteristics
Ability to meet, realize and support customers’ product requirements, implement the knowledge of operation system and specific requirement
Three to five years’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
Engineering or manufacturing office experience an asset
Active knowledge of AutoCad, Excel, Word, Easytalk and MasterCam and understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
Able to communicate requirements clearly in written and drawing formats
Able to communicate requirements clearly in written and drawing formats
Those who have been trained in APQP, FMEA, PPAP are preferred
