Role Summary:
Plans, directs, and coordinates C I / manufacturing processes involving machining, assembly, and testing. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production. Analyzes and improves quality, cost, and delivery by using Lean and Six Sigma tools. Provides engineering support in production departments by trouble shooting and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Partners with Manufacturing Supervisors to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.Identify, Initiate & implement CI projects Identification of the Manufacturing Engineering / Tooling requirements for the Valve componentsDesigning of Process Sequence – RM to Finished components – Machining; Welding; Assembly & Testing.Designing Fixtures/Tool Drawings in Solidworks, AutoCAD or equivalentWorking with the Production/SCM/ QC team to support production activities and provide necessary toolings as required.Preparation of Tooling Lists, Process Layouts, Stage drawings, Routing, SOP & Work InstructionsVerification & Review of Control Plan from SuppliersTrouble Shooting in Shop Floor and Supplier placesAssessment of Suppliers for CapabilityCollaborate with Site Managers to develop/drive/ implement CI improvement projects & monitor progressSupport Operations Excellence and implement CI improvement projectsStrong understanding of business process flows and controls from customer order entry to shipmentFacilitate cross-functional project teams through all aspects of the CIP utilizing the tools of the CIP to improve quality, cycle time, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional terms is preferred.Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of machine tool equipment, tooling, and methods. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve throughput and quality.Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.Enforces safety rules by ensuring that tooling, fixtures, and process meet all applicable OSHA regulations.Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed to these policies.Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player.Treats all customers and fellow employees with respect.Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with Twelve (12) + years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Worked in Manufacturing /Production Engineering for at least Eight (8)+ years of experience.Experienced in Valve / Heavy Engg. industry preferred.Machining & Machine tools requirements knowledgeWorking in Op.Ex. / lean manufacturing environmentLean certificationHands-on experience with 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, Single piece flow, line balancing, SFM, Kaizen, Poka-yoke activitiesStrong understanding of business process flows and controls from customer order entry to shipmentKnowledge of SAP ERP will be an advantage.Quality management systems and/or ISO9000 training, or equivalent.Strong PC, quantitative, analytical skills and database management skillsFixture/ Toolings design in Solidworks, AutoCAD or equivalentSelf-starter with a desire to drive cultural changes at the site levelGood communication skills, both oral and written.Good interpersonal skills, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.Facilitation, negotiation and influencing skillsNew Process Development & Process Optimization.Try out & Acceptance .Cycle Time Study , Capability Study , Fail-Safe Methods.Systematic Approach , Continuous Improvements.5S , 5 Whys , 8D , APQP , PPAP , PFMEA.MSA ,Capability study.AutoCAD, Solidworks .Certified in Lean Six Sigma Innovative Thinking , Analytical Problem Solving SkillsWillingness to explore & learn
