Ensure the safe, timely and cost efficient delivery of the Medium Term Mine Planning related services to the mine.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Ensuring that all mine planning personnel comply with site and regulatory safety practices and procedures while promoting a culture of safety and productivity, With input from the Department Superintendents create the annual budget, 2 year plan and LOM plan along with its subsequent revisions. These revisions will ensure ore recoveries are maximised, equipment is utilised effectively and waste is dumped in a manner which allows progressive rehabilitation to occur, Assist in the production of regular updates of the 2 year plan, Assist the department superintendents in regular re-runs of pit optimisations to ensure maximum recovery of economic ore’ Under the guidance of department superintendents develop pit, dump and other infrastructure designs which are appropriate to suit the needs of the mine planning team, Assist in the production of CAPEX and OPEX models for all mine plans, With guidance from the department superintendents regularly revise strategies on grade cut-offs based on reconciliation data and market demands as per Barrick Standards Track the performance of the Medium Term Plans against actual plan performance, Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, Ensure that environmental policies and strategies are incorporated into mining plans, Provide support to other mine planning disciplines when required,To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of full Grade 12 School Certificate Minimum 4 years’ experience in open pit mining, preferably in a mine planning role. A Degree in Mining engineering or related engineering discipline. Prior use and understanding of mine design/scheduling software preferred. Must have good communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft windows applications.
