Toyota’s Plastics Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support our internal and external customers impacted by the Plastics shop.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Plastics department's objective to meet all Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost KPI’s defined within the department in support of TMMI’s (Toyota Indiana) overall objectives.
**What you’ll be doing**
+ Equipment capability improvements (Quality and Productivity improvements)
+ Train maintenance / production on change points (RJ/WIS/PMs)
+ Daily meetings with Production and Maintenance
+ Manage improvement and refurbishment projects (Internally and with vendors)
+ Lead quality standards development activities as well as problem solving activities.
+ New Model (Design – SOP = 3 years) [Schedules, specifications, tracking, reporting]
+ Material changes (1-18 months) [Drive schedule and quality confirmation]
+ Equipment Improvement (3-12 months) [Design, schedule, procurement, training, installation, commissioning, and confirmation]
+ Daily KPI confirmation, RJ utilization for issue tracking/resolution
+ Interface across multifunctional teams (Contractors / Skilled trades / PE / Quality)
+ Process layouts and equipment capacity studies
+ Assist Production and Maintenance with major breakdown issues.
+ Lead and coordinate problem solving and reoccurrence prevention.
+ OA Improvement > Processing and equipment refurbishment
+ Ringi development, approval, and budget management
+ Shop engineering strategy development based on Hoshin.
**What you bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or engineering technology discipline or 3 years of equivalent experience in polypropylene injection molding and/or plastics paint application.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
+ Project management experience
+ Interface across multifunctional teams (Contractors / Skilled trades / PE / Quality)
+ This position requires excellent project management skills.
+ Verbal and Non-verbal communication skills as well as strong ability to negotiate and gain consensus among stakeholders.
+ Ability to travel internationally.
+ This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

+ Catia / XVL experience
+ AutoCAD / Inventor experience
+ Robotics experience
+ Experience working with Toshiba Molding Machines
+ Ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics (ability to demonstrate this skill if asked)
+ Manufacturing experience
+ Knowledge of TBP (Toyota Business Process), JKK (Ji Kotei Kanketsu), RJ (Ryohin Joken), DMM (Decision Making Matrix), Catia & Toyota Procurement processes
+ Toyota experience
+ TMMI experience
+ Automotive manufacturing experience
