Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for an Engineer, Process (RF Systems) (with some flexibility depending on the products worked on) to support the manufacturing team located in Rolling Meadows, IL.

This position will support product build in a dynamic, fast-paced and technically challenging environment in support of Radio Frequency systems.

As a process engineer, this individual will be responsible for developing the processes, transitioning them into production-relevant environment to meet forecasted rate, and maintaining existing processes. This position would include providing process support for the manufacture of the Shop Replaceable Units from received Circuit Cards, as well as supporting assembly into a payload (Line Replaceable Unit). This position will support aerial, military-grade, or space-grade Electronic Warfare Systems and Subsystems.

Core Responsibilities:

Support to Production: Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production technician, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to meet manufacturing contractual commitment. Investigate, design, and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures.Process Development/Maintenance: Generate and maintain/revise Manufacturing Engineering Process Specifications, Work Instructions, Routers, Tooling/Fixturing and Equipment.Continuous improvement: Review of quality metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, defects.Producibility reviews: Collaborate with design engineering to achieve producibility in new and updated product design.Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Building a strong professional relationship with other Manufacturing disciplines (Process Engineering, Project Management, Shop Operations, Mission Assurance), strong decision-making skills and a high-level ethical standard is essential. 

Basic Qualifications: Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems)

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; or Master of Science (MS) degree in equivalent fields.Experience creating process work instructions and/or experience working in manufacturing environment or design.Experience understanding design documentation (e.g. technical specifications, part and assembly drawings, etc.) and to assess producibility.Experience in manufacturing process development or related product design experience, fixture design, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.United States citizenThe ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret-level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems)

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related degree with 5 or more years of experience in Electronic Manufacturing and/or design. or Master of Science (MS) degree in equivalent fields and 3 or more years of experience in Electronic Manufacturing and/or design.Experience in developing/improving manufacturing processes for Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic Warfare products and/or equivalent.Active DoD Security ClearanceExperience with Root Cause Corrective Action methods and/or troubleshooting of Circuit Card AssembliesExperience working with vacuum encapsulation of electronic assembly processes.Experience with SAP ERP software

MANUMS

Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
