Engineer Product Validation

Job Summary

If you are a product testing profession, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for an Engineer-Product Validation to work with our dedicated pool of testing team with objective of bug free product to the customer. In this role you will work as part of team to test Emerson's software and hardware applications crafted for Power plant control system, which are fully assembled and tested in lab environment. You will participate in various performance, functionality and compatibility testing of the software and hardware. You will be responsible for working with managers, leads, testers and developers to understand the product testing requirements.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Test features & functionalities within our Ovation and its add-on applications in cooperation with other team members.  Perform smoke test, first pass test and regression testing along with team and report findings. Maintain the skill level of the whole engineering organization. Contribute to the overall quality of the organization in the testing of all applications, ensuring high performance on a variety of platforms. Contribute to build test plan, test cases, test scenarios and test cases for different software systems. Contribute to recreate the reported issues and report findings. Contribute to crafting automated and manual tests for a variety of different software systems.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in product testing of DCS and its supported software such as OPC, Data Analytics, Historian, Advance Algorithms, Cybersecurity solutions, Third party protocols Experience with various testing methodologies (functional testing, system testing, compatibility testing, performance testing) Experience in Installation of Windows OS, Drivers, and Microsoft Patches Experience of field instrument, discrete and continuous Controllers, HMI, and bus technologies

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

BE/BTech Engineering course (Instrumentation, EE, ECE, Power) Basic understanding of networking protocols and concepts Experience  ISTQB certificate at Foundation level Knowledge on virtualization/VM ware Basic understanding of power plant control systems  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Knowledge C/C++/C#/.NET, VMware, Crystal Reports, Communication Protocols
