Overview This position performs engineering, project development, project management, environmental management, and construction interface work which supports various Project Engineering and Power Generation functions and requires application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. In addition, this position will support the engineering and construction of the Mill Creek Unit 5 - Natural Gas Combined Cycle Project. Exercise of professional judgment is required in the performance of the assigned tasks. Responsibilities Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods. Apply Engineering, Project Development, Project Management, Environmental Management, Technology/Process Evaluation, and Construction Interface skills to projects including, but not limited to: Power generation engineering and construction oversight including but not limited to Mill Creek Unit 5 - Natural Gas Combined Cycle, natural gas simple cycle, solar array, and battery storage Power generation air & water quality control system interface work Prepare statements of work for engineering, fabrication, and construction/demolition projects Prepare Technical and Commercial specifications Involvement in Preliminary, Conceptual, and Detailed Engineering, including 3-D model reviews Involvement in Bid, Evaluation, Award, and Justification Liaison between generating stations, consultants, contractors, and management on matters concerning design and procurement of new equipment and new systems Meets with equipment vendors and evaluates the compatibility and suitability of their product to Company need Reviews all consultant/contractor prepared specifications, design concept drawings, vendor bids and purchase recommendation and advises management Participation in factory acceptance tests as well as material and equipment fabrication shop inspections Perform cost estimating reviews Ensure all records associated with the projects are maintained in an orderly, timely and complete fashion for audits, prudence reviews and O&M/project reference needs Provide support for management of budget, design and construction activities and contractual, schedule and documentation related issues for assigned projects Monitor contractor project execution with respect to safety, quality, and scope fulfillment on active construction/demolition sites Provide engineering, consultation, and coordination throughout the LKE organization (such as: Legal, Environmental, Regulatory, Planning, Transmission, Gas, Safety, etc.) in the development and implementation of projects Proactively support the management of safety Qualifications Education & Experience Requirements: ABET Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
