Job Description

Position Objective:

Responsible for carrying out analytical chemistry testing on finished goods and raw materials within an ISO accredited laboratory environment.
Successful candidate will be part of a fast paced quality control department at our Inchinnan campus. Successful performance of job duties contributes to meeting testing schedules, customer satisfaction, departmental safety and quality objectives.

Essential Functions:

Perform raw material and finished good release testing according to standard operating procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Key tasks for this role include:

Ability to manage lab schedule and direct staff to required tasks for completion and verify output. Raw material Sampling and TestingWater sampling and testingPerforms troubleshooting and equipment maintenance to resolve complex issues on UHPLC and ICPMS systemsProvides guidance, mentoring and support to new team members May attend customer calls and provide technical guidance. Reconstitution of powder media and full specification testing.Calibration and Maintenance of equipmentReview and approve new products creation and changes to product specifications. Take the lead on initiating and implementing validation processes, technical investigations and improvement initiatives.May be required to perform other related duties as required and or assigned.Maintain detailed and complete product test records per in-house testing procedures and in accordance with ISO 13485 standards. Support and maintain Company's Safety, Environmental and Waste Management programme.Participate in personal development opportunities to further improve skills and knowledge to the relevant position.

Requirements:

Education:

Requires a bachelor’s degree within biological and/or chemistry science

Experience:

Significant experience in a biotechnology or similar manufacturing environment preferredExtensive analytical experience is required and can demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of scientific principles. Good aseptic techniques requiredStrong interpersonal skills and a dedication to excellenceAbility to troubleshoot lab based queries and prioritise workloadAble to work independently as well as work within a diverse teamFamiliar with MS Office productsExcellent oral and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

Works in a laboratory environment.  Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.  Will be expected to perform some manual handling. Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts where required.
