Engineer / Senior Engineer – Supplier Quality

By joining Emerson as Engineer / Senior Engineer Supplier Quality Engineer you should be having good knowledge & exposures to support develop, lead and expand the quality management system on plant. This will include efficiently helping to handle the Quality assurance team whilst ensuring production and quality standards are maintained.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

Perform inspection of parts received from suppliers as per quality plan and prepare dimensional inspection reports including visual parameters. Review of Material test certificates and approve the same as per relevant specifications / standards requirements. Identify outcome of inspection (Accepted/NC) on the inspected parts and close in the ORACLE system accordingly. Move the non-conformance parts to quarantine area along with identification stickers. Communicate the details of non-conformance to suppliers and buyers thru Quality alert / CAR. Conduct MRB meeting in daily basis and dispose the non-conformances on time. Follow up with suppliers for RCA and verify its efficiency in subsequent receipts. Prepare supplier quality performance metrics and share it to respective peoples to initiate improvement actions, wherever required. Investigate the supplier parts quality issues & present the findings, recommend the corrective actions, & implement the same at the supplier end. Coordinate with purchasing department to supervise supplier performance, generating regular reports and coordinating corrective actions as vital. Establish, implement, and maintain SOP for all inspection, measuring and test equipment’s. Work on measurement improvement projects - small and break through kaizen for reliability improvement.  Preparation / updating of monthly reports (QPR, COQ, Supplier metrics data) on time.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Well knowledge in inspection of casting parts / Precision machining parts. Basic knowledge on GD & T, understanding the concepts of position tolerance. Familiar in drawing study & understanding Able to handle basic linear instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Height gauges, Bore dial gauges, 2D Microhite, Surface finish instruments etc. Knowledge on CMM inspection / Contour tracer & handling of CMM / contour tracer. Basic computer knowledge for report preparation etc. (Familiar in Excel, Word & power point). 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Diploma (10-15 years) / Bachelor’s degree (5-10 years) or equivalent experience in engineering mechanical. Shown knowledge of manufacturing process including machining. Confirmed understanding to interpret part drawings / GAD / Customer specifications / National and International Valve and material standards Well experience in handling measuring equipment’s like- CMM, 2D Height gauge, Surface Roughness Tester and General instruments Basic knowledge & experience in PPAP, 5S, Kaizen, Poke Yoke and Problem Solving techniques Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write technical documents
