**ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMPLIANCE ASSURANCE ENGINEER/SPECIALIST**
**As per current corporate policy, you will be required to be** **IN THE OFFICE** **primarily at 2480 Maner Road SE, Atlanta, GA three (3) days per week, and/or as additionally required at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA, or Facility Sites.**
**This position may be filled as an analyst, specialist, or engineer depending on educational background, experience, and qualifications.**
**JOB SUMMARY**
Compliance Assurance is a team within Georgia Power Environmental Affairs that is responsible for developing and implementing compliance programs and tools for Environmental Affairs, Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Corporate Service organizations.
**We are searching for a new compliance assurance team member with an interest in both environmental compliance and continuous improvement of business processes and systems.**
As part of the compliance assurance team, the successful candidate will work primarily to ensure Enablon, our Environmental Management Information System (EMIS), provides a high level of value to Georgia Power.
Additionally, you will support the facilitation of our environmental compliance training program and the administration of our environmental compliance records management system.
The successful candidate will need to have or quickly develop a basic functional understanding of environmental regulations affecting air, water, and waste, as well as possess a drive to develop deeper expertise in this area.
The successful candidate must have the ability to develop a strong understanding of Georgia Power’s business and operations, as well as the ability to establish relationships to build an internal network of support
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Support and Drive Adoption of Georgia Power’s Environmental Management Information System (Enablon)**
+ Support the sustainment and continuous improvement of the Enablon platform to ensure accurate and efficient reporting of environmental compliance assurance data.
+ Maintain the quality and relevance of content within Enablon, such as tasks, inspections, checklists, and agency interaction data, by working closely with subject matter experts.
+ Champion the adoption of Enablon, including providing first-tier support to users and coordinating second-tier support with software vendors, consultants, and internal IT as needed.
+ Support the implementation of software enhancements and new applications/modules, including the development of training materials, job aids, and delivery of live user training.
+ Monitor and analyze Enablon data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, which may include the development of dashboards and reports.
**Other Responsibilities:**
+ Develop an understanding of Georgia Power’s operations and activities and how they relate to environmental compliance.
+ Build relationships with Environmental Affairs subject matter experts and facility personnel to provide trusted support.
+ Advocate for the consistent implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) program across all facilities.
+ Support the compliance assurance field team as needed.
+ Facilitate and enhance the Environmental Affairs Training Program to ensure personnel are knowledgeable about compliance obligations and procedures. Note – other subject matter experts are responsible for developing and delivering training related to environmental regulations. This role will coordinate that effort and report on progress. Separately, this role may develop and deliver training on our Environmental Management System and Enablon.
+ Administer the Environmental Recordkeeping Program, ensuring alignment with Southern Company’s Record Information Management (RIM) program.
+ Support continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System documentation and EMS performance reporting to leadership
+ Support the Company’s storm restoration and emergency response efforts as appropriate
+ **Up to 25% travel throughout the state of Georgia; occasional travel to Alabama will also be required**
+ These duties are the primary focus of the role and other duties could be assigned as needed
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:** (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
**_Education & Job Experience:_**
+ **Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or information technology related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Management Information Systems/Data Science, etc.) or equivalent work experience.**
+ **2+ years of experience as follows:**
+ Experience implementing and/or supporting Information Systems. Experience with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Information Systems such as Enablon is a plus.
+ Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, such as air, water, or waste
+ Experience developing meaningful reports using Power BI or similar technologies is a plus
+ Experience in a client or customer supporting role is a plus
+ Experience with project management is a plus
