JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

This position, in the Transmission Planning group, is required for performing studies associated with Generator Interconnection.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform steady state load flow analysis in the planning horizon. Perform transient stability, voltage stability, and small signal stability studies. Familiarity with the PSS/E and TSAT software packages for load flow and stability analyses and positive sequence generator modeling (synchronous machines and IBR plants). Familiarity with the MISO DPP process and applicable NERC and IEEE standards (e.g. NERC FAC-002, NERC TPL-001, IEEE P2800, IEEE 519). Perform transient studies using PSCAD software for IBR integration (model quality tests, weak grid analysis, control interactions). Perform short circuit analysis and breaker rating studies using CAPE software. Analyze disturbance monitoring devices such as dynamic recorders and phasor measurement units. Interface with generator interconnection customers, regulatory agencies, reliability councils, MISO, and other transmission providers. Represent Entergy on industry wide technical working groups.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four-year accredited institution Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from four-year accredited institution, with PE may be considered Preferred: BS Electrical Engineering degree, MSEE or PhD with emphasis on power systems

 

Minimum Experience:

Engineer I: 0 - 2 years of experience in an engineering discipline Engineer II: at least 2 - 4 years of experience in an engineering discipline Engineer III: at least 4 - 6 years of experience in an engineering discipline Engineer Sr.: at least 6 years of experience in an engineering discipline Preferred: 1 - 5 years of experience in modeling, system analysis and planning of power systems Experience in a power utility or a consulting company

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
