Job SummaryWilberforce University is a small, Liberal Arts University with an Entrepreneurial focus, with a legacy of being the nation’s first private HBCU. Faculty are expected to fulfill the mission and core values of the university with dedication, compliance with all university and academic area policies, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to the success of the students and the university. Broad responsibilities include teaching, research and grant writing, and service to the community. This is a face-to-face position. These appointments start in the Spring of 2025.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching a broad range of Engineering courses in Mechanical, Civil, and or Computer Engineering. Advise and mentor undergraduate Engineering majors and minors. Engage in scholarly research activities which includes writing grants. Serve on departmental and university committees and engage in other forms of service to the university and academic community. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with ABDs considered but must have a conferred Ph.D. by January 1, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with Prior Teaching Experience.
