The primary focus is project support and project delivery, serving as on-site engineering contact for technical questions, project quality, and documentation during project setup, execution, and close out. This role also supports the Project Manager. This role is considered GSI’s “Field Representative” and serves as the interface between Frontline Operations, Project Management Office, and Engineer of Record, as well as with client site representative. This is a Denver-based position spending the majority (>90%) of the time working on projects during active construction. This may include long term field assignments, with an expectation of traveling 50% to 75% of the time in the field. Responsibilities + Provide on-site engineering and project management support as an integrated part of the construction team. + Daily communication (internal and external), both written and verbal, regarding construction progress, quality management, design changes, and client questions and approvals + Confer with Frontline Operations, and Engineering staff to maintain design and performance intent of a constructed project. + Review, understand, and support Frontline Operations team with project contract documents such as plans and specifications. + Perform and document field quality testing for concrete, earthwork, and ground anchors, soils nails as required. + Document and prepare Daily Field Reports including as-built conditions, material quantities, and construction progress. Qualifications Minimum qualifications + Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. + Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. + Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing. Preferred qualifications + BS in Civil Engineering or related field of study. + Engineer In Training “EIT” certification. + Previous experience with on-site construction observation and documentation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Ability to read and extract information from project plans and project specifications. + Understanding contract document hierarchy. + Understand regional geology and slope stability issues. + Understand simple geotechnical modeling and engineering calculations, including the knowledge and use of proper drafting techniques. + Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills. + Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software. + Effective and efficient communication skills, specifically technical writing, and effectively interacting with external and internal staff at all levels. + Self-Motivated/Self-Monitoring. + Ability to prioritize tasks at hand. + Ability to travel on short notice. The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver area is $61,000.00 - $75,000.00. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
