Engineering Co-Op

An Engineering Co-op position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, temporary position. To be considered, you will need to be a student in good standing, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline. In this job, you will support requirements, design, development and testing of algorithms in embedded electronic systems.
Job Duties:
-Develop software and/or hardware design documentation for embedded systems product lines across supporting a range of industries.
-Use the latest emerging technologies and tools to solve complex engineering problems, working alongside product domain experts and technical professionals
-Define and implement test plans to verify implementation.
-Support software and hardware verification and validation efforts of the embedded electronic systems.
-Develop test equipment hardware and/or software.
-Design electrical schematics and printed circuit boards.
-Write software code in C and other structured programming languages.
Required Qualifications:
-2 years of college coursework in pursuit of BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline
-Early career engineering students who do well in this role are eager to learn; get a thrill out of making electronics and software work; enjoy both hands-on lab work and in-office design work; are able to work with others on teams and contribute in individual roles.

-You must be self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized to thrive on this team, and if you are, you will earn responsibility, ownership, and enjoy job satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

-Growing communications skills, including verbal, virtual, presentation, and written are critical to your success in this role.
