POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented engineering student for a six-month co-op. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of utility distribution design. The position will involve data collection and assisting engineers with performing engineering consulting services in distribution line design, coordination, and material selection on Medium Voltage systems for a wide range of electric utility clients, including co-ops, public utility districts, investor-owned utilities, municipalities, and others. The successful candidate will prepare basic calculations, analyze systems using computer modeling, develop construction drawings, and document design self-checks of their work as part of POWER’s quality process.
Required Education/Experience Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in civil, electrical/computer, or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited university Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy and the ability to learn new computer software efficiently Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience Successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection Familiarity with design, drafting, programming, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, Python, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficialAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
