Engineering - Data Product Manager - Associate - Stockholm

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Data Engineering team. Data is the lifeblood of Goldman Sachs and our data products and services are critical in delivering commercial success for the firm. You will build and maintain close relationships with our users, research, design and engineering teams and work on solutions for internal, external and new business opportunities. As a Data Product Manager, you will closely partner with businesses, fully understand their business processes front to back, and work together with them to uplift their data strategy and processes.

Our (fully open-sourced) Legend data platform is key to Goldman Sachs' data strategy and your role as Product Manager is to drive adoption by unlocking new workflows and business use cases on our data platform. Apply your product knowledge to boost metrics-driven insight generation, formulate and drive execution plans to build and improve features, and streamline the user journeys for our 30k+ monthly active users. Our team of product managers work closely with creatives and researchers through our design teams and are fortunate to have many experienced engineers to help architect and develop technologies. We are responsible for guiding products throughout all stages of the product's lifecycle, including research, pitching, scoping, delivering, promoting, and tailoring solutions to our clients.

We are looking for an experienced product manager familiar with product development and management who has a proven track record in leading the delivery of impactful platforms from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be excited by solving customer problems, about working with end users to specify requirements and elicit feedback, and leading build and execution. We are looking for a talented and passionate Product Manager who thrives in an extremely entrepreneurial, fast paced environment. This is a high visibility role, backed by some of the senior-most leaders of the firm, and as such, will require creativity and drive to deliver on an ambitious roadmap.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

You will be an experienced Product Manager, working cross-functionally to guide products from conception through launch, growth and maturity by connecting technical and business domains to meet our customer needs. You will break down complex problems into steps that drive product development and release, adopting the principals of early releases and incremental deliveries to generate evidence of customer value.

As a Data Product Manager in Data Engineering, you will:

Contribute to one of the most critical Engineering functions at Goldman Sachs.Establish robust relationships with our businesses and your users to make sure you build with impact.Partner with businesses to model their processes and capture their data requirements to drive insights and commercialization.Be an advocate and user of the Legend data platform to build strong, data model-driven analytics for operational and product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Develop an in-depth understanding of large-scale analytics and data modelling concepts and gain hands-on experience of how they are supported in the Legend data platform.Shape the standards and policies within the firmwide Product Management function.Use your technical knowledge, software development, and data management skills to assist users, identify issues and suggest feature changes.Apply a data-driven mindset to create and use analytics to decide what features should be prioritized and why, as well as predict issues before they occur.Understand business use cases so that you can influence and drive their prioritization and ensure the data platform is developed with the right fit-for-purpose.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's in a technical/ business degree or equivalent practical experience2-5 years of product and/or technical program management experience in a client facing roleDemonstrated success collaborating with design and engineering teams to drive product developmentComfortable with Agile processes, with an emphasis on creating backlogs that support the product roadmapProven ability to influence and/or lead a cross-functional team without direct authorityDemonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and roadmaps to stakeholdersAbility to engage with and influence stakeholders outside their direct controlProven ability to lead by example, with a positive attitudeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to set goals, meet deadlines and effectively communicate progress to stakeholdersIndependent thinker, willing to engage, challenge or learnAbility to stay commercially focused and to always push for quantifiable commercial impactA healthy obsession on customer satisfaction and the customer experience, and a willingness to be its internal advocateStrong work ethic, a sense of ownership and urgency

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Bachelor’s/Master’s/MBA in related fieldsExperience managing an entire product's lifecycle, from conception to launchFamiliarity with JIRA, GitLab, GitHubFamiliarity with Design Thinking, Working Backwards Process, and OKR conceptsFamiliarity with data management and data analytics
