• Creates/manages assemblies, drawings, motion files etc.
• Locates, manages and Releases data in Teamcenter
• Awareness of Foundation/Core Tools in FEDE (DFMEA, SCCAF, 5D's).
• Design compatible build to print parts, assemblies and integrate full-service supplier sub-systems.
• Design per functional requirements and design rules.
• Design to meet program milestones deliverables.
• Design to applicable CAD methods and standards.
• Knowledgeable relative to responsible sub-system requirements.
• Deep understanding of automotive design environment relative to sub-system.
• Understands traditional manufacturing processes within automotive industry.
• Understands traditional assembly and joining processes.
• Proactively seeks out Design rules and functional requirements.
• Shares status and issues without being prompted or required.
• Proposes alternate feasible solutions.
• Seeks out additional assignments.
• Proactively identifies/develops/deploys efficiency ideas (tool and/or process improvement).
• Actively participates in feasibility meetings.
• Asks relevant and applicable questions and raises valid concerns.
• Communicates in a clear and concise manner with an adequate level of detail.
Qualifications
• 1 to 5 Years work experience in the design/CAD area (automotive industry background preferred but not essential)
• Engineering knowledge of Mechanical, Structural, Materials concepts.
• Knowledge on Core Tool skillset (DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Systems Engineering)
• Knowledge on Catia V5, Team Center, TcVis, BoM, Stack up, GD&T, Design for Assembly / Manufacturing.
• Engineering degree on Automotive, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial or related disciplines.
• Coursework in modeling software tools is desirable but not essential.
