We’re Aggreko
We provide energy solutions to help businesses grow and communities thrive. We work as a team and we’re proud of the difference we make to customers, to local communities, and towards a sustainable future for the world.
Aggreko in Europe
Across Europe, we electrify events from Glastonbury to Hellfest, the Ryder Cup to the Commonwealth Games. And we're helping customers to reduce their environmental impact too, using solar energy and batteries and swapping out diesel for biofuel.
We’re a team of 6,000 specialists, from all corners of the globe. And lots of us began our careers as an apprentice here in Dumbarton.
Our Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship
Over four years, you’ll follow an apprentice programme linked to Glasgow Caledonian University, leading to the attainment of an BEng (Hons) Graduate Apprenticeship in Engineering (Design and Manufacture).
What you’ll do:
As part of our manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience contributing to the design, development, and validation of our global products, including power generators, fluid chillers, air conditioning units, heaters, and boilers.
This combination of practical experience and formal training will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in engineering.
At Aggreko, safety is at the heart of everything we do. As an apprentice, you’ll follow our ‘Safety for Life’ principles, actively engage in safety practices, and contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive working environment for everyone.
Location: You’ll be based at our Lomondgate facility (G82 3RG) with day release to Glasgow Caledonian University
Why join us as an apprentice?
Our programme is designed to give you a wide variety of professional experiences. You’ll work in an Aggreko depot and client sites, with opportunities to also support at world-class events.
Although we're sixty years old, it doesn't feel like it when you work here. You can expect the professionalism and high standards of a larger company – yet you won’t be pigeon-holed into a narrow role.
The sense of teamwork is unique – ‘together’ is one of our core values – and we make sure people feel welcome and included, so they can be themselves at work.
What’s Next After Your Apprenticeship?
Upon completing your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to work at our Lomondgate facility or explore roles at one of our other national or international locations.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll need a minimum of four Highers at grades BBCC or equivalent, including Maths and a science or Technology subject.
You will be motivated and keen to learn and develop your career with us.
Curiosity and a desire to learn and develop technical and professional skills
A positive working attitude, including reliability, responsibility, and a professional approach to tasks
Good communication and teamwork skills
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Bring your energy, Grow your career.

We welcome people from different backgrounds and cultures, and respect people’s unique skills, attitudes and experiences. We encourage everyone to be themselves at work because we know that’s how we do our best, for each other, for our customers, for the communities where we work, and for our careers.
We are an equal opportunity employer. If you apply for a role at Aggreko, we will consider your application based on your qualifications and experience, and not on your race, colour, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
