Position Summary:
Trimble CCFS is seeking an engineering intern to join our Positioning, Mapping, and Perception research and development team. This team is responsible for building, integrating, and evaluating core technologies relevant to civil construction and related applications in Trimble’s Field Systems segment. Core technologies include but are not limited to global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning, inertial navigation systems (INS), simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), lidar perception, camera perception, and radar perception. The intern’s primary duty will focus on evaluation and testing. The majority of the work will be software focused, but a portion of the work may also involve working with hardware, as well as compute platform interfaces. The candidate must commit to the position for 12 - 16 months. We have adopted a hybrid work model where it is expected for the team to be present in the office on selected days of the work week.

Software testing of solutions developed within our team
Test automation within our continuous integration pipelines
Performance evaluation of third party technologies
Recommended Skills & Experience
Enrollment in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Experience in modern C++ object oriented programming
Experience in scripting with Python and bash.
Experience using git for version control
Experience with software testing automation is a plus
