Job Description

The Program  

 

Mallinckrodt is offering an 11-week internship program, which provides an immersive experience in the world of pharmaceuticals. As an MNK Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and impactful work that compliments the degree you are pursuing. Here, you will be able to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a corporate environment. In addition, our internship program is designed to include networking opportunities across the company, professional development workshops, and community service.

Summary 

 

As an Engineering Intern, the objective is to allow the individual to enjoy experiencing real world operational support and to gain insight on future career opportunities / desires. 

This position will support Engineering activities including project management, change control, process improvement, equipment history and other functions which may include integration of existing hardcopy equipment history files with a computer-based asset management software (Blue Mountain RAM). The work will be performed in an office environment with minimal physical activity. The individual must comply with all safety and cGMP site requirements where applicable. 

 

Essential Functions 

 Establish reasonable expectations to assist in identifying opportunities to support Port Allen operations 

Communicate project status with team and advise on needs/changes. 

Develop asset/equipment data structure and proceduralize the process of creating. maintaining, and decommissioning equipment history files in the application (BM-RAM) 

Convert hardcopy records and upload to electronic platform per procedure. 

Create and train users in the work instruction on how to execute the newly implemented process. 

 

Minimum Requirements 

 

Education / Experience / Skills: 

An active student in an accredited undergraduate engineering program (any engineering discipline will be evaluated with chemical or mechanical engineering preferred). 

Must have good oral and written communication skills. 

Proficiency with MS Windows based software, Word, Adobe, Outlook. 

Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD / Solidworks) an advantage. 

Ability to quickly learn new computer applications. 

  

Organizational Relationship/Scope: 

Personnel will be expected to work closely with Engineering and Maintenance to receive guidance on job scope and related activities. Tasks will consist primarily of equipment records familiarization and understanding, computer data entry, procedure development and implementation, record organization, personnel training.
