Engineering Intern (Mechanical/Machining/Fabrication) - Summer 2025
**Job Description** The Engineering Intern will be assigned to the Mechanical Engineering Design team within the Maritime Solutions division and will work directly with both the design engineers and the machine shop to design and fabricate installation kits for electronic equipment and systems being installed aboard US Navy vessels. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** High School diploma and at least two years of college coursework completed toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Proficiency with computer aided drafting/drawing software (AutoCad, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.) Mechanical aptitude Ability to form materials with standard hand tools **Pay Information** This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance. You may be eligible to receive a cash payment in lieu of certain benefits.
