POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented civil, mechanical, electrical or engineering physics student for an 8 or 12 month co-op term. Under the guidance of experienced staff, the successful candidate will support the design of overhead transmission line and distribution line structures, foundations, and their related facilities.
Required Education/Experience Pursuit of a university degree in civil, structural, or electrical engineering or other related discipline. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry. Candidate is legally authorized to work permanently in Canada without the need for work sponsorship. Desired Education/Experience Minimum of a 2.75 GPA. For electrical engineers, successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection is a plus. For civil engineers, coursework in structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying is a plus. Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks. Ideal coursework includes AutoCAD, structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying. Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable.At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
