Join a team that has the environment down to a science. **Your Opportunity** Stantec is looking for an intern for our Fargo, ND location to work primarily within our Environmental, Engineering, and Construction group. Opportunities exist to support other infrastructure and environmental groups in our metro locations, dependent on workload. As an intern, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to engineering and construction. The primary duties for this internship position will entail construction observation, QA/QC testing, and communication with contractors and clients. Our employees will gladly answer any questions you have to provide an enjoyable and rewarding internship experience. + Construction observation and documentation, field testing and field measurements (construction CQA). + Construction progress reports and communicate with project team, contractor, and client as required. + Soil and water sampling. + Assist with drafting, computer modeling, data entry, preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical memos, and reports, as required. + Provide support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs dictate and workload allows, for exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions + Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time. + Valid Driver’s License. + Strong communication skills and customer service experience are desired. **Your Education and Experience** + Currently pursuing or graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, construction management or related field OR an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related program. + Previous construction observation experience is strongly preferred. + Additional relevant experience is also preferred, including soil testing, surveying, drafting, and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
