Your Team, Your Impact

As a hardware and silicon validation senior staff engineer at Marvell, you’ll be helping to deliver high bandwidth over long distances. This team performs analog validations on amplifiers that drive optical electronic devices and receivers. We also validate silicon photonics, do upper electronic measurements and support the coherent digital signal programming unit. This is a niche area at Marvell, working with cutting edge technologies used by many internal and external customers around the world.

What You Can Expect

As an Engineering Lab Manager you will be focusing on the building, maintaining, and operating of our engineering labs in Kanata, Ontario.

You will be the point-of-contact for engineering lab-related activities for multiple engineering teams.

You will be forecasting and procuring materials for engineering needs and inventory control, managing inventory of hardware components, equipment, products, and other supplies, and procuring spare parts and supplies to ensure all supplies are stocked and available when needed.

You will be managing engineering lab day-to-day operations including lab organization, lab space access and security, and safety protocols.

You will be implementing and improving adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements as needed to maintain compliance with lab certifications and local requirements.

You will be organizing the lab and moving instruments, tools, and inventory as required for optimum performance.

You will be performing lab asset management duties including maintaining instrument calibrations, servicing laboratory equipment, and managing equipment and asset database.

You will be collaborating with engineers on new equipment designs, installation, and operation. You will own, operate and maintain a 3D printing station as needs be.

You will be working with engineers to collect data and provide technical support for lab test stations if needs arise.

You will be analyzing and communicating effectively lab related issues and making recommendations for next steps in lab tools and infrastructure.

You will also be planning for new locations and spaces accounting for team growth budgeting.

You will be working with various equipment and services, including both cross-functional and external vendors.

You will assist in shipping & receiving activities.  

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5+ years of related professional experience. Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3+ years of experience.

2+ years Experience in lab management

Experience managing suppliers and supplier contracts, inventory management, ISO calibration procedures, detailed knowledge of instruments such as VNAs, BERTs, oscilloscopes

Strong written and verbal skills, and excellent organizational skills
