Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking an experienced Lead Engineer for a new, single award ID/IQ type task order contract providing Integrated Multi-Domain Command and Control (IMDC2) capabilities to multiple mission partners with integration of existing technologies resulting in improved processing, cybersecurity, hardware and software, exploitation, communications, and command and control (C2) capabilities. The Lead Engineer will be a thought leader for all technical aspects of the program. The work involves interfacing with multiple customers (e.g., CCMDs, DOD Services, IC) and developing and managing plans across subcontractors. This is a flexible contract that is intended to provide support predominantly in the Northern Virginia area. The Lead Engineer will be part of a full-service Program Management Office leading technical and operational personnel. This is a 5-year program that will exceed $1B.

What you will do Serve as the senior technical authority in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes in areas of expertise. Advise the technical staff in developing appropriate approaches to complex or technically difficult tasks.  Review the work of technical staff to assure technical accuracy.  Oversee and perform systems engineering activities in core areas (e.g., research, design, evaluation, testing, deployment, training) in support of programs focused on the integration of new and emerging technologies into legacy systems and the evaluation and maturation of new technologies. Prepare and present technical briefings to stakeholders. Serve as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and lead a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program to meet technical requirements including subcontracted elements.  Coordinate requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensure that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes.  Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation. Comply with all corporate and government policies and procedures, including quality assurance and security procedures in the performance of duties. Establish and monitor standards for internal quality programs. Provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems or applicable company procedures.
  Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters in Science/Engineering/Electrical or Computer-science field of study with 13+ years of prior relevant experience Ten years of experience leading systems-level analysis, requirements generation, modeling, integration, IV&V, and prototyping, three of which are in developing, acquiring, and delivering field engineering support in IT, networking, and C5ISR capabilities in a joint DoD and DNI environment. Technical and leadership experience, with demonstrated expertise in systems integration. Clearance:  Must possess and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with access to SCI based on a Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI). Work shall occur predominantly in Northern Virginia and there will be occasional travel required to CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations. (~10% travel).
  Preferred Requirements Three years of experience in space systems C2 and associated hardware reliability. Five years of experience with military networks as a network architect or integration lead. Five years of experience supporting a DoD service PMO/PMA office, which has a program of record system and/or five years’ experience at a DoD service Major Command (MAJCOM). Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, to include experience w/ SysML; Experience in the integration of existing technologies; Lifecycle Product Support experience. Experience in any of the following: Communications across multi-domains; Enhanced interoperability of C2 systems; Emerging technology (e.g., AI/ML, Digital Engineering, M&S, software definable networks (SDN), radios); JADC2 environment; Special systems tactical communications, Software Defined Radios (SDR), Base defense operations centers, Mobile intelligence components, Intelligence and data management systems; Platforms (e.g., UAS, Radars, classified sensors, sensors); and wargaming
  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Expert knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques. Expert knowledge of the related tools, equipment, hardware, and software. Ability to lead and manage multiple complex technical issues and coordinate diverse technical resources. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of customers, employees, teammates, and management.
