Engineering Leader 1
Overview The Engineer Leader 1 (EL1) supports, participates in, and leads projects/programs while building client trust and validating a world class solution. The EL1 leads engineering best practices across several disciplines and has experience with coaching and mentoring concepts and methods. Responsibilities + Leading complex technical discussions, projects, and/or programs. + Validating world class technical solutions on projects. + Ensuring engineering best practices are followed across multiple engineering and solution disciplines. + Managing technical risk on a project. + Providing oversight, direction, and technical expertise to engineering teams on a project. + Leading an engineering discipline to develop new and upcoming engineers and technical experts. + Preparing client-specific solutions. + Driving the development and maintenance of project artifacts that are required to ensure success for a project. + Identifying, recommending, and implementing work process improvements. + Reviewing technical project details with project leadership. + Managing the integration of data from multiple company systems and analyzing the data to draw insights on project technical solution. + Ensuring safety regulations are adhered to and issues identified and resolved. + Maintaining a positive, assertive relationship with project engineers to achieve project milestones and overall project success. Qualifications **Education, Experience & Training:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics preferably from an ABET accredited program with 7+ years of experience in any Engineering discipline with Construction experience OR + Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics preferably from an ABET accredited program with 5+ years of experience in any Engineering discipline with Construction experience **The Engineering Leader 1 preferred education and training is:** + Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification + Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification + Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) training + National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) training **The Engineering Leader 1 required skills are:** + Strong knowledge of one or more technologies and various application methods. + Experience with collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. + Ability to lead and participate in technical discussions with project leadership. + Ability to lead the application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for one or more specific branches of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services. + Strong Knowledge cost estimation. + Strong knowledge of finance systems and basic principles of finance management. + Ability to design, build, and development of a new product, technology, or service + Ability to calculate and present the costs of a project when budgeting. + Ability to develop and maintain trust and trusting relationships. + Strong knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding + Applied experience in developing and providing solutions to complex technical challenges. + Tools Experience MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) MS Outlook Mail Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) Microsoft Visio SharePoint SureTrak + All M.C. Dean applications (including, but not limited to Job Connect, EVMS, Timesheets, Accubid, Infralink, Forms) **Abilities:** + Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. + Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. + Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. + Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. + Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. + Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. + Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. + Identify and understand the speech of another person.
