Engineering Leader - Controls & Systems
**What you’ll do:** We are looking forward for engineering manager to lead and shape RDE portfolio for Controls and Systems team of ES EMEA group. S/he will be responsible for Implementing strategies focus around product lines encompassing embedded product development for EMEA divisions and also provide leadership to Electro-Mechanical development for Life Safety and Medium Voltage Systems. Build and leverage synergies between various BU products. Provides leadership in the development strategy and roadmap for products and developments. S/he works closely with team mates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various facilities in EMEA for New Product Developments, Cost out, sustaining and application engineering projects. Build Organization Capabilities – Hire and development plans for the talents for Enclosures and Controls. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and Technologies with specific focus on making them intelligent & smart. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define strategic roadmap for building strong RDE portfolio on key product lines - Manages diverse growing R&D team for multiple products with 2025 projected HC of 65+ talents. - Provides leadership to the team with diverse technical skills - Embedded hardware and firmware, mechanical and electrical design, & industrialization engineers - Provides leadership in building strong technical & organizational leadership to enrich the R&D portfolio at EIIC in order to own higher order work and move up the value chain in delivering the business impact - Define clear plan in alignment with divisional strategy. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define roadmaps & drive Innovation / technology roadmap - Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Embedded and Software design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering - Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative Technology, to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability. - Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/NTI programs for division. - Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments. - Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time. Manages department budget and performance to forecast. - Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities. - Champion DFX , Engg. Excellence deployment ensuring project health and contribute in planning per Pre-ProLaunch requirements - Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate. **Qualifications:** + BE/ME in Mechanical / Electronics, Electrical Engineering + 18+ years of design experience + Min 10+ years of experience in coaching & mentoring people **Skills:** -Experience leading a larger teams with cross functional skill areas... preferably someone who has experience leading through front line managers - Ability to translate product line strategy into prioritized R&D deliverables and drive execution through multi skilled technical teams - Experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology -Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering - Ability to lead the portfolio by understanding inter-unit nuances around product design ownerships and continuously drive higher order deliverables for the business - Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking - Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities by hiring and developing the next level of leaders in the group - Develop and drive technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization’s capability - Intervene seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables. - Drive employee engagement and development.
