Engineering Management & Configuration Roles – Defence Programs

Our Team Downer business unit delivers professional services to Defence. Team Downer collaborates with clients across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and the National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) to help them achieve their mission. 

We are currently seeking candidates to support our maritime sustainment work packages to provide in-service support to Navy maritime assets and deliver new maritime capability. While most of these roles are based in Sydney, we have access to roles across the country. So, if you have Defence experience, ideally from within the maritime domain, we’d love to hear from you.

We are actively seeking skilled professionals Engineering and Configuration professionals across platform governance, systems integration, and technical change management.

You bring experience across engineering disciplines such as platform systems, interface design, structural integrity, and electrical engineering. You’re confident overseeing design, trials, testing, and assurance activities across the system lifecycle in line with Defence standards and governance frameworks. Your background includes configuration management, engineering change control, and maintaining traceability across technical baselines. You collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver integrated solutions, mitigate risk, and support capability outcomes with robust technical oversight.

As we are a business that supports Defence, we need you to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a AGSVA Security Clearance - minimum NV1. 

Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
