Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board! **Why you'll love this job** This job is a member of the Generative AI Product Team within the Information Technology Division. ​In this role you will lead a team of data scientists and engineers that will create and maintain our enterprise Generative AI platform, develop and enforce Gen AI governance and best practices, and develop and implement generative-based AI solutions that drive business value for American Airlines. Your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our AI capabilities and driving the success of our organization. **What you'll do** + Leads, develops, and mentors a high-performing engineering team with a diverse range of technical skills and experiences + Exhibits strong business and leadership skills, deep technology perspective to guide solutions, and strong communication skills to coordinate with Engineers to ensure they understand business needs and objectives, as well as technical requirements of products + Collaborates with Business and IT leadership to communicate and execute the organization’s technical vision, mission, and work priorities, and drives progress towards roadmaps and ensures efficient technical product management and effective communication with stakeholders + Creates environment for delivery teams to be self-governing organizations who are accountable for their own performance and delivery commitments and measured accordingly + Removes roadblocks, cultivates relationships, and effectively communicates across IT and at various levels of leadership + Manage project portfolio, ensuring timely project deliverables, while communicating project progress with stakeholders + Assist team in developing and rolling out industry-leading analytical models, tools and systems that enhance and advance business processes and decision making + Promotes the adoption of new and emerging technology trends to encourage continuous improvements in engineering practices + Exhibits a desire for continuous learning and sharing of new knowledge within the organization + Responsible for the hiring and managing of squad members, including staffing and performance reviews + Participates in the design, creation, and monitoring of the enterprise Gen AI platform + Develops and enforces Gen AI governance best practices **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related technical discipline + 7 years of application systems development experience using ITIL / Agile / XP, or similar methodologies + 3 years of experience leading projects or teams, either formally or informally **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, or related technical discipline + 5+ years of experience implementing large, complex projects + 3+ years of experience implementing AI/ML solutions + Airline industry experience, including engineering / business processes and supporting technology **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + Proven track record in leading engineering initiatives that generate substantial value; well organized, able to multi-task, able to prioritize with minimal direction + Strong technical leadership, including extensive experience in Agile methodology-style leadership environment + Experience in developing and motivating individuals who can work as a team to meet deliverables and quickly overcome obstacles + Proven ability to build, cultivate, and promote strong relationships with IT counterparts, business partners, and external groups + Excellent communication skills to present to executive management and emphasize the important intersection of business and technology + Proven ability to handle multiple products/work streams and demands efficiently + Proven ability to develop and implement generative-based AI solutions + Proven experience in designing and implementing AI architectures and solutions + Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices + Ability to think strategically and use sound judgment and initiative in making decisions + Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
