About the RoleWe’re hiring a Senior Staff Engineer to serve as the technical leader for our Backend Developer Experience group. This group spans monorepo management, IDE tools, build and test systems, CI, frameworks/SDKs, and core platform services. In this hands-on role, you will define the technical vision and drive execution across a wide range of developer productivity products, impacting every engineering team at DoorDash. You’ll partner closely with engineers, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to design and operate systems that support platform reliability, development velocity, and operational efficiency.
The role requires deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional influence, and a passion for building excellent products which empower teams. You will mentor engineers, architect scalable solutions, and collaborate with other leaders to align our platform investments with engineering goals. You’ll work closely with your customers (your fellow engineers) and help identify and resolve their immediate pain points, while also anticipating future needs so the team can deliver solutions proactively.
