Engineering Manager

Job Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with a strong background in electronics manufacturing, including experience with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT), electromechanical systems, and MIL/AERO (military/aerospace) industry standards. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional engineering teams, drive product development initiatives, and ensure all projects meet stringent quality, performance, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor an engineering team in the design, development, and production of electronic components and systems.Oversee manufacturing processes, focusing on SMT and electromechanical systems, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.Ensure compliance with MIL-STD and aerospace industry requirements, contributing to the design and testing of military-grade or aerospace electronics.Collaborate with other departments such as production, procurement, and quality control to optimize engineering workflows and production timelines.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet customer and company goals.Facilitate problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts on technical issues within the team.Work with the senior leadership team to define strategic engineering goals and innovation roadmaps.Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to integrate new solutions into products and processes.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with a focus on SMT and electromechanical systems.Experience in the military or aerospace industries, with knowledge of MIL-STD, ITAR, and other relevant regulations.Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.Strong understanding of electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, and PCB designs.Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with military-grade product development or defense contracts.Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing tools.Lean or Six Sigma certification.PMP or equivalent project management certification.
