We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager for our Silicones team at our site in Charleston, TN.
What you will do:
The Engineering Manager will coordinate and support a team of engineers to perform a variety of engineering activities to increase equipment lifetime, reliability, and efficiency and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems. Team management experience and knowledge of chemical and physical processes along with technical knowledge of plant maintenance and asset management are needed to execute the responsibilities of this position. The main objective of this position is to provide support and guidance to a team of engineers to provide technical services to the Silicones operations in order to assure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximize the availability and efficiency of the production units.
Direct and supervise a team of engineer within the engineering supporting team Ensure that PSM compliance is maintained within production units Act as owner for capital projects executed by project engineering Manage and/or support capital invest and expense type projects within area of responsibility Manage and coordinate 3rd party services providers Coordinate and manage responsibilities and workload between plant engineers assigned to the respective plant area Lead plant engineers assigned to support the respective plant area in the performance of their responsibilities Ensure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility Assure availability of production units at required capacity and quality Support process and technology transfer/exchange between Wacker's Polysilicon production sites Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost Develop and/or support development of specifications, standards, and codes Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams Represent Wacker's interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors Support groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with Wacker's policies and procedures
What we need from you:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred) 8+ years of combined professional experience in the field of plant engineering, operations, maintenance, and project management with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role is required Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements Thorough understanding of engineering principles, maintenance strategies and construction practices in a chemical plant environment Experience in Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, and Safe Work Practices in a chemical processing facility Experience in process control of OSHA PSM covered systems and processes Leadership skills combined with team player attitude Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach Strong multitasking competency Ability and willingness for domestic and internationally to Germany What do we offer?
