Engineering Manager

Ecolab has an exciting new opportunity for an Engineering Manager with proven leadership, technical, and project management skills at the Weavergate, Northwich, Cheshire facility.

As Weavergate’s Engineering Manager you will lead the overall performance of both the Engineering & Maintenance functions at the plant, whilst working as part of the site Leadership Team to deliver daily, operational, tactical, and strategic goals of safety, quality, performance, and productivity,

In this role, you will be accountable for all CAPEX on-site, establishing engineering standards to ensure that specifications and installations are consistent with best practices, and legal compliance in respect to environmental & process safety at the site (Upper-Tier COMAH). You will also build and maintain CAPEX budgets, run training, and deliver projects within the company framework.

In addition, being responsible for maintenance functions, you will lead TPM methodologies throughout the site, following Early Equipment Management (EEM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) methodology to ensure reliability both in current & future plant machinery. This involves

This position is based in Weavergate, Northwich, UK

Weavergate plant is a 32,000tons per year liquids blending facility producing a range of different chemical products including soaps, detergents, disinfectants, water treatment chemicals, surface cleaners, and sanitisers. In addition, the site is HACCP and ISO22000 certified to provide products to the F&B industry.

What You Will Do:

Work as part of the site’s Leadership Team to deliver strategic goals for the site and the company.Be responsible for creating and running the site’s capital management plan & CAPEX project execution and supporting the plant Project Engineer.Provide technical leadership to maintain standards of safety and performance. This includes meeting site’s legal and corporate responsibilities, and interaction with the HSE/EA.Contact vendors regarding costs and availability of equipment. Supervises the purchasing and installation of equipment covered by capital authorization requests.Responsible for the safety of maintenance and outside contractors’ personnel. Supports the manufacturing safety culture and drives Goal Zero initiatives.Overall responsibility of maintenance department on site, working closely with the Maintenance Mgr. & Maintenance Coordinator.Responsible to manage, maintain and improve functional safety systems on site.Audit, assess and design Safety Instrumented Systems to guarantee adequate efficiency, safety and level of protection.Manages plant program for TPM through teamwork within and across departments, to eliminate losses and increase facility effectiveness so that safety is advanced, processes and equipment are reliable, quality is stabilized/improved, and operating costs are reduced.Performance management of maintenance and project personnel including annual reviews, goal setting processes and disciplinary actions. Ensure adequate training, development, and progression for technical staff.Prepares and maintains annual department budget. Monitors expenses throughout the year to ensure costs are within amounts budgeted.


Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably chartered with relevant Institution.Experience in Managing Functional Safety Systems.Proved experience implementing BS EN 61511.5+ years of engineering/operations experience in a manufacturing operations environment.Previous experience in capital & maintenance management.Experience with standard capital project management software & CAD.Strong leadership and analytical skills combined with superior interpersonal, communication, influencing and conflict / problem resolution, negotiations, report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior executives, consultants, and key decision makers.An understanding of TPM, with experience working in a TPM environment.
