BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join Sr Engineering Manager at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.

In this role, the Sr Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of manufacturing processes to ensure both product functionality and profitability. This role ensures seamless collaboration between the engineering team and other Manufacturing departments.
Primarily, the Engineering Manager will devise and sustain improvement strategies for manufacturing processes, targeting zero accidents while enhancing quality and productivity. Additionally, they will support operations by integrating machinery and equipment to maintain process continuity.

Key Accountabilities

Design new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.

Purchase and install equipment.

Investigate production issues.

Enhance existing operations to boost efficiency.

Supervise technical and engineering personnel.

Manage budgeting responsibilities.

Maintain statistical and financial records.

Perform fault diagnosis.

Act as a liaison with suppliers, clients, and R&D staff.

Ensure manufacturing processes possess the capacity to meet customer demands.

Define standards for process and machinery engineering.

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer specifications.

Participate in engineering changes and product specification revisions.

Contribute to investment proposals for process, machinery, and equipment improvements.

Implement Poka Yokes and error-proofing systems.

Develop new electrification products.

Engage in Kaizen events and cost-saving initiatives.

Request approval and execute CAPEX for both existing and new processes.

Prepare and manage the departmental budget.

Foster the team's electrical knowledge.

Adhere to responsibilities and authorities outlined in the Environmental Management System, Format: 600-01-02.

Qualifications

Schooling: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related career, Master's degree preferred.

• Time of experience in a similar position: 10 years of experience in Engineering and 5 years as a manager in similar areas.

• Required technical knowledge: Costs, budgets, Manufacturing Processes, and electrical products in the automotive industry.

• Other requirements: Microsoft Office, IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and Core Tools.
