Hexcel is currently seeking an Engineering Manager for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Fibers location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Lead the Engineering Team, made up of diverse engineering backgrounds, to include work assignments, training and development, staffing, compensation, and project management.
Lead the plant continuous improvement and MOC initiatives.
Lead process improvements while working with other functional leaders in the Organization to reduce variability while striving for “world class” capability.
Work closely with the Capital Team to scope capital projects.
Lead qualification efforts for new assets, new raw materials, and new products developed by R&T into production (NPI).
Lead failure modes and effects analysis (FEMA) on production assets to minimize risk.
Analyze and interpret manufacturing techniques, procedures, and process conditions to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
Provide support in addressing customer complaints, and partner with the Quality Control team to answer customer action requests.
Proactively support and comply with the safety & environmental requirements, including OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
Participate in environmental sustainability efforts, greenhouse gas reduction, waste reduction, energy assessments, and water consumption.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, aeronautical, etc.).
5+ years in the carbon fiber industry.
8+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace, with increasing levels of responsibility.
Proven experience with process improvement and optimization methodologies. Six Sigma green belt certification a plus.
Experience with failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis techniques.
Knowledge and experience with basic drawing layouts with emphasis on PFD’s, P&ID’s and material balances preferred.
Experience communicating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across different departments, both onsite and offsite.
