Main Purpose of the Position
To provide a safe compliant working environment for all employees, providing a quality engineering service with planned maintenance schedules to meet the Manufacturing needs of the business unit. Ensuring equipment is maintained to the required standards to meet the Plant KPI’s.
Key Responsibilities
H&S:
Implement and develop Plant H&S policies and procedures to provide a safe working environment.
Ensure the Plant is compliant with all H&S and environmental legislative requirements.
Ensure the Plant maintains company house-keeping standards.
Performance:
Ensure site compliance with all regulatory and corporate environmental, health and safety standards. Provide leadership and direction for Engineering team ensuring that they meet business deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Promote safety and environmental issues to raise awareness of company and legal compliance requirements across the site, providing direction on safety and environmental needs to comply withy competency requirements. To provide input to the site safety committee. Responsible for overseeing all the site’s major engineering projects. Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met, quality maintained and budgetary controls adhered to. Manage implementation of maintenance schedules and other maintenance tasks. Provide engineering resource for the site for new and existing plant and equipment. In conjunction with Plant Management and Senior Management, develop business strategy for the site engineering function, managing resources to meet Company goals. Experience of project planning and ability to liaise with other departments to ensure all requirements are met. Continually improve the cost base of the plant on a sustainable basis, commensurate with the recognition of team perfor-mance, the condition of the equipment and infrastructure. Identify capital programmes with the Plant which sustains our operations and provides compliance to legislative require-ments. Direct plant operations for the manufacture of beverage products in accordance with process, product specifications and quality standards. Establishes, maintains and develops an effective working relationship with all Plant customers through performance, contact and communication. Provides direction, leadership and support to the Engineering Team to enable the plant to deliver quality products. Collaborative working with Senior Managers to ensure benchmarking exercises are in place in regard to plant machinery, systems and protocols.

Build and develop an Engineering team who are capable of creating sustainable performance improvement within a motivat-ing and empowering environment. Act as a role model for the company / plant values and behaviours. Help establish, maintain and develop an employee relations climate of trust and confidence which promotes the achieve-ment of company and plant goals. Create a training and learning environment within the Engineering Team which provides employees with the skills, knowledge and capability to enhance their performance and realise their potential within the business.
