Job Description
As an Engineering Manager in Accommodation, you will work closely with senior product managers, data managers, designers, and other engineering managers to make action plans based on business OKR. You will also define and drive the technical vision for your team. Together with the team, you will develop processes, architecture, and best practices of the team, and have a significant influence on our overall strategy. You will also be expected to ensure that your team is capable of creating a reliable and high-performance product that requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building highly scalable distributed systems. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software and feels strongly about building & shipping reliable and scalable software as well as making that software achieve its business goals. You’ll also be expected to exhibit strong leadership and people development skills to build a sustainable and growing team.
Responsibilities
Lead the yearly and quarterly planning with a mission to build a smooth execution plan and secure the delivery of the engineering roadmap. You are the ultimate owner of the successful delivery and rollout of your roadmap.
Drive your teams forward by being objective and supportive, as well as raising the bar continuously by striving for great delivery and code quality.
Design and enhance cutting-edge services (existing and new) by setting a high standard for availability, scalability, and efficiency
Actively participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
Engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning, and optimization
Work with other leaders in Traveloka Technology employing your skills of technologies, communicating your ideas effectively, and driving alignment with key stakeholders to create successful outcomes of business and engineering growth.
Attract and retain engineering talent, actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across Traveloka. Deeply care about people's growth and career development
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university.
At least 5 years of technical leadership experience
Extremely proficient in Java programming language
Strong experience in designing and building complex, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems
Experience in implementing DevOps culture – Agility. Automation. CI/CD. Microservices. IaC.
Good understanding of cloud infrastructure operation and security
Experience in leading or managing an agile development team with 6+ direct reports
Experience in working with multiple stakeholders: product managers, data managers, QA managers, and designers.
Strong experience in setting technical OKRs, KPIs, and technical-roadmap with a strong sense of ownership
